Governance and Structure of ISOPP

ISOPP is governed by elected Secretariat members and supported by the work and input of appointed Committees, Task Forces, Work Groups and members, all of whom are volunteers.

ISOPP’s Governance model is based on a self-leadership model of the ISOPP membership to effectively deliver identified strategic initiatives as outlined in ISOPP’s Strategic Plan. This is to assure that this plan is relevant in the evolving oncology pharmacy community.

  • The Secretariat serves as an oversight steering group to the Society.
  • The Secretariat is voted in by ISOPP members by an election as specified in the Bylaws.
  • The Secretariat’s work is supported by Committees and Task Forces which are comprised of ISOPP members and supported by the Society Management Office (SMO).
  • A Committee is a group of members charged by the Secretariat with doing the foundational work associated with a particular charge or activity that is of critical importance to the Society.
  • Committees provide recommendations to the Secretariat, and complete projects independently in accordance with the Mandate and Objectives of the Committee.
  • A Task Force is a group of members charged with a time-limited task (generally less than one year) as defined by the Secretariat. The Task Force work is defined in scope and the group is dissolved once the task has been completed or is dissolved by the Secretariat. A Task Force can report to a Committee or directly to the Secretariat.
  • The Secretariat identifies the need for Task Forces based on needs of the Society and sets goals and broad objectives for the Task Forces and determines a date for the completion of the objectives.  The goals, objectives, and timeline may be modified based on recommendation of the Task Force upon approval of the Secretariat
