Volunteer to Support ISOPP

ISOPP needs members who are willing to give their time and expertise to help lead the Society.

There are several ways you can help:

  • Stand for ISOPP election onto the Secretariat – a great opportunity for you to put your thoughts and ideas into action.
  • Help identify oncology pharmacy practitioners who you feel have something to contribute to ISOPP and encourage them to stand in our elections. This will give you a chance to mentor a colleague who may be interested in a leadership role, but is unsure about taking on this opportunity.
  • Recruit a new ISOPP member – this could be a practitioner you know from work, from your travels, or from industry meetings.
  • Volunteer on a committee, task force or work group and help us in our mission to improve care for cancer patients around the world.

Our volunteer process runs once a year. The next window will be April to May 2025.

ISOPP Volunteer Recruitment Process

ISOPP has established a volunteer recruitment process to ensure that the Society effectively engages passionate individuals who are dedicated to advancing the field of oncology pharmacy. By having a structured and transparent process in place, we are able to identify and match volunteers to roles that align with their expertise, interests, and the society’s needs.

This process helps us maintain a high standard of quality and commitment in our initiatives, committees, and task forces, while also offering members opportunities for professional growth and leadership development. It ensures that volunteers are given the support and resources they need to contribute meaningfully to ISOPP’s mission, and helps us build a diverse and inclusive network of professionals working together to improve cancer care worldwide.

Ultimately, the volunteer recruitment process strengthens ISOPP’s capacity to achieve its long-term goals and provide valuable services to its global membership.

The current process is as follows:

  1. Interested ISOPP members must complete the online form and email their CV to volunteer@isopp.org.
  2. The Volunteer Task Force (TF) will review all online forms and CVs once annually to collate a list of candidates.  Candidates that have met all volunteer requirements will be offered an online meeting with a member of the Volunteer TF.
  3. The Volunteer TF Chair will notify Committee / Task Force Chairs (Chairperson) with recommendations for candidate(s) to join their group as volunteer(s).
    1. Candidate(s) will be recommended as volunteer(s) based on consideration of their interests and experience, each Committee/Task Forces mandate and capacity, and principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).
    2. Recommendations will be provided via email and include the candidate(s) CV(s).
  4. The respective TF / Committee Chairperson will contact the candidate directly and complete the following:
    1. Introduce the volunteer to the existing members of the group
    2. Provide the volunteer with appropriate documentation for orientation (e.g. Committee Terms of Reference), as available and/or appropriate
    3. Ensure the ISOPP Conflict of Interest form is completed.
    4. Ensure the ISOPP website is updated.
