Cathedral de Sevilla

Seville’s cathedral is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A huge building, its construction lasted over a century, from 1401 to 1506. It is said that during the planning phase, church elders stated ‘Let’s build a church so beautiful and so magnificent that those who see it finished will think we are mad.’ (‘Hagamos una iglesia tan hermosa y tan grandiose que los que la vieren labrada nos tengan por locos’).

Real Alcázar

Just a few steps away from the cathedral, there is another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Real Alcázar. which was built in the 10th century for Moorish rulers. 
It is recognized as the oldest royal palace still in use and represents one of the finest examples of Mudejar architecture in Spain.

The Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de España

The Maria Luisa Park is a stunning garden of palms, orange trees and Mediterranean pines, covered with flower beds, ponds, fountains and pavilions. The Plaza de España is located in the centre of the garden and is a famous film location for many films. 

Along the entire perimeter of the plaza, there is a canal of 515 metres which can be explored by boat.

Triana

Seville’s former Gypsy quarter is one of the city’s most distinctive attractions. The area is known for its colourful streets - plastered with faded bullfighting posters and photos of flamenco artists - and many tapas bars. 

It also hosts one of Seville’s best and most lively markets, the Mercado de Triana. From Monday to Saturday (9 am – 3 pm), the market is filled with an array of foods, flowers, beers and juices as well as gifts.

Las Setas

One of Seville’s most popular and unique attractions is Las Setas which is also known as ‘Metropol Parasol’ or ‘The Mushrooms’ because of the distinctive shape of its vast wooden canopies and pillars. It was the winning project in the competition for the renovation of the square in which is it located.

The construction consists of five levels that contains a lookout point and a panoramic route that covers most of the area, a tapas restaurant, space for events as well as an Antiquarium museum which displays archaeological remains. 

Archivo General de Indias

Known as the city’s third UNESCO World Heritage building, the Archivo General de Indias is a repository of valuable archival documents illustrating the history of Spanish colonial times. The archive is now home to about 43,000 files, and represents Spanish Renaissance architecture. 

Aire Ancient Baths Sevilla

Find this magnificent spa in an alley named Aire in the Santa Cruz neighborhood, just a few steps away from the cathedral. Experience warm, hot and cold baths, the Thousand Jet Stream Room, the Steam bath and Hammam in a 500 year old Mudejar-style palace.

Real Maestranza

Seville’s Real Maestranza, a 12,000-capacity bullring is one of the city’s most visited tourist attractions. The regular Bullfighting season is from March or April until late September. The Maestranza’s museum showcases the history of bullfighting.
