ISOPP is saddened by the news of the passing of Larry Broadfield, BSc Pharm, MHSc., one of ISOPP’s founding members. 

Larry responded to the challenge at ISOPP’s very first Symposium in 1988, to continue holding international oncology pharmacy meetings, by organizing the third Symposium in 1993 in Toronto, Canada. It was at this gathering that ISOPP’s journey as an official organization began, with the formation of an Advisory Board.  Larry was ISOPP’s third President in 2000-2002 and continued to be instrumental in the affairs of ISOPP and a leader and mentor in the field of oncology pharmacy for many years. He was the recipient of numerous awards and also a founding member and leader of the Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology (CAPhO). 

Our sympathy goes out to his family, friends and those who knew him. We are honoured to have known Larry and will truly miss his positive jovial personality.  A service will be held on Sunday October 16th, 2:30 pm at Rockingham United Church (12 Flamingo Drive) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
